IVF Cycle day 15…

Hello everyone!

Well I have an update today. I am finally going to take the “trigger shot.” I will take it tonight at 6:45 sharp. This is the one medication that is time sensitive. I have to take it exactly 36 hours prior to the egg retrival. So that means that my egg retrival is very early in the day on Friday.

I have decided not to get too much information today. I want to look at the important numbers and that is the number of eggs that we get on Friday. I have seen many women get sad or depressed by the egg count based on folicals. I don’t want to do that. But I do know my estrogen level for those who know about that. I know that my estrogen level was 2104 this morning.

Physically I am feeling big. I joked this afternoon that me and a cow have a lot in common right now. Ha ha! It is hard for me to bend over. That is about it that I am feeling. The shots that I have been taking are painful just for a minute then I am fine.

I am to start taking Doxycycline tonight. That is an antibiotic. It is used to prevent infection because of the egg retrival. So I will take 3 pills of that (1 pill 2 times a day) then have the egg retrival.

That is about all the information I have for now. We are hoping for a 5 day transfer which would be Aug. 1. We will be transfering 2 embryos.

Talk to you all later!
Jennifer

  1. Hi Jennifer…the numbers seem good to me (from the little I remember when we went through this)—high enough to get enough good eggs and low enough not to be overstimulated. Spend time tomorrow doing nice relaxing things. And once the eggs have been retrieved, fertilized and put back, try eating lots of pineapple and drinking pineapple juice. No kidding—it’s supposed to help (and it worked like a charm for Sharon). It could just be coincidental, but it is pretty yummy and good for you and all.

Our fingers, toes, and Hallie’s, too, are crossed for you. I know that our no longer so little one (she just weighed in at over 18 lbs!!!!) can’t wait to play with your little one(s).
