Our big day yesterday.

Hello everyone!

Well we had a huge day yesterday. We got a ton of things done and that is always good. I had blood test done (took two nurses to find my veins, the whole time I was asking if they wanted my flashlight!) I also had a mock transfer. This was essentially where they do the transfer but without me being on meds. This is to make sure there are no problems when the real transfer happens. For me it was easy but sometimes it can be harder.

We also had our injectable refresher coarse. This included our lesson in Progesterone in Oil and Repronex. Both of which I didn’t have before. Both of these also happen to be intramuscular injections. So this was more or less training for Tony and not me. Ha ha! Anyway that was interesting and I learned that I am on a new form of Progesterone in Oil. It is in Ethyl Oleate. I guess this is thinner then the traditional oils which are mostly what you and I would eat with. The one that they had on hand was in Olive oil for instance.

Then we signed all of our paperwork for the cycle. There were forms for IVF, then for the Cryopreservation and to hold the embryos in Cryopreservation. 3 in all but it felt like more since we had to initial every page then sign.

Below you will see my Rice heating pads. I made these for the intramuscular injections. This should help with the pain if I combine it with massage. The bags are yellow and the cases for the bags are in the center. HPIM1802a

Well that is about all the news I have for now. We are going to do spring cleaning this weekend to prepare for the next pregnancy and the upcoming IVF cycle.

Talk to you later!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer and Tony. It’s so wonderful to hear that you are really on your way. It’s incredible everything you have to go through but so well worth it. I will be praying for you every step of the way.

    Take care. Rowena

  2. Delurking to say that those warm rice bags are amazing for easing the pain of PIO injections! Warm it up and sit on it for a few minutes priot to injecting, then sit on it again after injecting and it will make a huge difference in the pain and lumpiness normally caused by PIO IMs!

I wish you the best of luck with this cycle and will keep you all in my prayers.
